1. Make sure that the power is turned on and one or more sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper are loaded in the Cassette. 2. The scanner still works and I assume the fax does too, so I don't plan to get rid of mine even if it's not fixable, at least not right away. I have a small black & white laser printer, which I bought a couple of years ago because I got tired of the expensive per-page cost of printing black & white documents on the MP830.
